Jim marshal

Jim marshall was the founder of the world famous line of marshall amps. besides making famous amps,  His fame and success has earned him an OBE honour for his "services to the music industry and charity" and is known as one of the forefathers of rock along with Leo Fender, Les Paul and Seth Lover, creator of the Hum-bucker Pickup.

Jim marshal never had an easy childhood as he was in hospital for most of his early life. unable to attend school. when he reached his teens he outgrew his bad bones and lead a normal teenage life from their on. Jim diddnt have any education to his name and decided to start working at an age of 13. 

He always had a thing for music and became the lead vocalist for a 16 man band. called the flying colours and was performing 6 nights a weeks, often taking an interest in the drums and playing them as often as he could.

in 1942 the bands drummer left and jim offered to take his place. after some success he decided to start teaching, as demand rose he had over 65 pupils. in 1960 he opened up a drum shop which soon became a popular haunt for the up and coming rock bands of the time, who wanted jim to also stock guitars and amps,“They kept pestering me to stock guitars and amps so I decided to give it a go.” so he did. Soon after he noticed that his guitar customers wanted an amp sound that wasn't in the stock at the time “Listening to what they were saying gave me a very good idea of what they wanted,” 

After some work the finished was the JTM45, JTM being Jim and Terry Marshal, Terry being Jim's Dad. the amp was an instant success, it had the aggressive sound that was requested as well as 30 Watts of power, so it was loud enough too. Hence why 23 were sold the day it came out. considering there was no real anticipation or advertising. it was quite a hit.

Throughout his career, Jim has devoted countless hours and millions of pounds to charities, especially those dedicated to helping disabled and underprivileged children. “It all goes back to spending so much of my young life in that wretched plaster cast,” he explained. Jim was also made an honorary Doctor of Music in 2002 and awarded the OBE (Order of the British Empire) in 2004.

On the morning of Thursday, April 5th 2012 Jim passed away. He Was 88 when he died, and his death is still celebrated to the present day. many bands and artists morned and payed tribute to him when they heard about him. many of which have quoted "Heaven Now Goes to Eleven!"

Berry Gordy is well known for being the founder of the Motown record label and starting the music genre of Motown from scratch 

after he left the army in 1953 he decided to open a record store , with the help of some $800 he borrowed from his parents. The store failed unfortunately and decided to find work making and producing cars for ford, while writing songs in his free time. after a few years using some of the money he made from his songwriting he then decided to produce some more records and find some new talent. in 1957 he saws a groups called the miracles and decided to record them, producing songs like 'got a job' and 'i cry'. 

His gift for identifying and bringing together musical talent, and with careful management of his artists "Public image", Made Motown a major international success. he kept the public image of his artists a mystery as none of his album covers featured the artists themselves. he knew that due to racial segregation, his albums wouldn't sell.

After a long while of success he started up Mowtown records, and signed on artists like The Supremes, Marvin Gaye, The Temptations, Jimmy Ruffin, The Commodores, Stevie wonder and The Jackson Five.

In the end berry gordy saw Mowtown as "the sound of young america" although it was mainly blues, but its image was bright and uplifting and good fun. Mowtown's hit names attended in-house finishing school, where they learned how to comport themselves onstage and socially. Berry was a stern leader and wanted there to be an instated program of "Quality control" including the weekly product  evaluation meetings that he modelled after Detroit’s auto-making plants. At the same time, the working environment was sufficiently loose and freewheeling to foster creativity. In Gordy’s words, “Hitsville had an atmosphere that allowed people to experiment creatively and gave them the courage not to be afraid to make mistakes.”

Richard Branson is mainly known for owning all companies under the virgin name, a name which has seen huge success and wealth, $25 billion in revenue actually.

The virgin group or realistically the Virgin empire has over 400 companies including trains,planes,banks, festivals, fitness groups, casino, gaming give-aways/promotions,hotels, vodka, wines, mobile tariffs, spaceships and the list goes on and on. many of these companies have duplicate companies that are set up in different countries and domains.

the virgin fortune began when Richard left school to start virgin records, a mail order record business, two years after its debut he was already opening a chain of these record stores. soon after in the 1980s he opened up virgin megastores. the megastores was a hit as he managed to open up virgin atlantic and expand the virgin records label all in the same year.

Richard lives on the necker islands, an island he found soon after its original discover, willam necker decided to abandon the island as he complained there were many poisionous insects, reptiles and arachnids.

Richard is also known for his sporting achievements, notably the record-breaking Atlantic crossing in Virgin Atlantic Challenger II in 1986 and the first crossing by hot-air balloon of the Atlantic (1987) and Pacific (1991). He was knighted in 1999 for his contribution to entrepreneurship, and in 2009, he landed at No. 261 on Forbes' "World Billionaires" list with his $2.5 billion in self-made fortune, which includes two private islands

In recent years, the over-adventurous Branson has focused much of his attention on his space tourism venture. He partnered with Scaled Composites to form The Spaceship Company, which is currently developing a suborbital spaceplane, and, in recent events, the project made an impressive leap forward with the test launch of its second space ship.

Branson was delighted by the success of his spaceship's first test, telling NBC News that "We're absolutely delighted that it broke the sound barrier on its very first flight, and that everything went so smoothly." He expects to be finishing testing the craft by the end of 2013.
